IPMAT 2026: Exam Date, Eligibility and Section-wise Syllabus

IPMAT full form stands for the Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test. It is a national-level entrance exam conducted by IIM Indore, IIM Rohtak, and accepted by other IIMs like IIM Ranchi, IIM Jammu, and IIM Bodh Gaya for admission into their prestigious Five-Year Integrated Program in Management (IPM).

What is the IPM Program?

The IPM (Integrated Program in Management) is an innovative five-year course that blends undergraduate and postgraduate studies in management and business education. It is specially curated for students who have completed their Class 12 (Higher Secondary) and want to pursue a career in management straight after school.

  • This dual-degree program (BBA + MBA) is structured to equip students with leadership, analytical, and managerial skills from a young age, offering:
  • Foundation in social sciences, mathematics, economics, and communication
  • Professional management training (equivalent to MBA)
  • Internships and live projects
  • Pathway to high-paying roles and global opportunities

What is the IPMAT Exam?
The IPMAT exam is the gateway to the IPM program. It is conducted online and typically comprises multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and short answer questions (SA – for IIM Indore only).

  • Key Skills Tested:
    Quantitative Ability (QA) – Mathematical and analytical aptitude
  • Verbal Ability (VA) – Grammar, reading comprehension, and vocabulary
  • Logical Reasoning (LR) – Logical thinking and pattern recognition (only in IIM Rohtak exam)

Eligibility: IIM Indore

  •  Age Limit: Should be ≤ 20 years as of June 30, 2026
  •  Education: Passed or appearing in Class 12 (2024–26). No minimum board marks required though high scores are advised .

IIM Rohtak

  • Age Limit: Should be ≤ 20 years as of June 30, 2026
  • Education: General/OBC/EWS: ≥ 60% aggregate in Class X & XII.
    SC/ST/PwD: ≥ 55% aggregate

     Quantitative Ability (SA + MCQ) includes:

  •  Arithmetic: Number systems; HCF/LCM; fractions; percentages; profit & loss; SI & CI; ratio & proportion; mixtures; time & work; time & speed; boats & streams; ages; partnership.
  • Algebra: Linear and quadratic equations, inequalities, functions, sequences, matrices.
  • Geometry & Mensuration: Lines, angles, triangles, circles, polygons, mensuration, coordinate geometry, height & distance.
  • Modern Math: Logarithms, surds, P&C, probability, sets, vectors, data interpretation .
  • Verbal Ability:Reading comprehension passages, Grammar & usage (error-spotting, fillers), Vocabulary (synonym/antonym, one-word substitution, idioms, foreign words), Sentence completion/jumbles, para-summary, analogies, inference-based questions Proper Noun.
