NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY JODHPUR
National Law University Jodhpur, Rajasthan is one of the most pretigious law schools of the country and is considered to be among the Top 5 Law Schools under the Common Law Admission Test. Every year NLUJ takes in students from all parts of the country coming from diverse backgrounds. Students passing out from this college work in top law firms, some practice in courts, while some have entered the field of legal academics.
Courses
Terming its establishment as a Third Generation Experiment, the University calls forth and furthers the need behind viewing and handling legal education today in a multidisciplinary scenario. On these lines the University offers five year integrated undergraduate program in three streams B.A.,LL.B. (Hons.); B.B.A., LL.B. (Hons.); and B.PSc., LL.B. (Hons.), each with a vision to integrate the knowledge of law with humanities, management and natural sciences respectively.
Placements
Industry experts term NLU Jodhpur as a ‘market facing law school in India’ Students have been recruited by national regulators, senior counsels, reputed national and international law firms, corporates, and financial institutions. The pay packages offered by national law firms range between Rs. 8 lakh to Rs. 16 lakh per annum, whereas, international law firms have offered packages between Rs. 28 lakh to Rs. 30 lakh per annum in the previous year. Students have also been successful in undertaking Judicial Clerkship at the Hon’ble Supreme Court.
International Law Firms participating in recruitment include Allen and Overy LLP, Clifford Chance LLP, Herbert Smith LLP, Simmons & Simmons LLP, all from the UK and Afridi and Angell from Dubai. National Law Firms include the top firms such as Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A. Shroff & Co., AZB Partners, Khaitan & Co., Luthra and Luthra Law Offices, Nishith Desai and Associates, Trilegal and the others.
Other than Law Firms the University also places students into various Financial Institutions and Consultants and PSUs while some students opt for In House jobs in prestigious companies.
Infrastructure



NLU Jodhpur is known for its vast and beautiful 55 acre campus. The Halls of Learning: the University’s Halls of Learning, popular among students by the name “ACAD BLOCK” provides the requisite infrastructure and the desired ambience needed for quality legal learning. The Halls of Learning include all classrooms, each of which are equipped with projectors and air-conditioners, comfortable faculty offices, which are accessible to the students, the Conference Hall, which has been the venue of the most important symposiums, seminars, conferences and lectures conducted by the University and Moot Court Halls.
Classrooms: The University provides to its students air-conditioned classrooms with comfortable seating arrangement. Each classroom has a slide-projector attached which has reaped immense benefits to the students through the medium of e-learning. The University has some of the most distinguished luminaries as its faculty and with such arrangements the teacher-student interaction and consequent intellectual gain for the students is thoroughly boosted.
Conference Hall: The University very pro-actively hosts various seminars, conferences, symposiums and guest lectures on diverse areas of law and contemporary relevance. The venue for all of these is the Conference Hall, which is a spacious Hall which can easily accommodate over 275 people.
Moots Court Rooms:
For a comprehensive understanding of law, there is need to master not just concept but also its manner and actual practice. By including CREs as a mode of evaluation, the University intends to make them confident, emphatic and competent guardians of law. In furtherance of this objective, two Moot Court Rooms have been made in the Halls of Learning, each of which is an exact replica of the Actual Court. These rooms are used not just during the Court Room Exercises but also during the Anti-Trust Inter-University Moot conducted by the University and during the intra universtiy mooting competitions held on various occasions in the Semester.



Hostels for boys and girls, a well equipped library, well equipped gym, great sporting facilities, cricket ground, football ground, Badminton Court, TT, basketball, volleyball and a lawn tennis court.
NH 65: The University hosts its Inter Law College Literary and Cultural Fest named NH-65 every year. Deriving its name from the location of the University on National Highway No. 65, the fest has a wide array of events including the flagship Parliamentary Debate, Presidential Debate, Mega Quiz and many more entertaining events.
Yuvardha: This is the biennial sports fest of the college which includes sporting events for athletics, badminton, cricket, chess, football etc, for both man and women.
Mooting
NLU Jodhpur has a rich Mooting culture and is known in the law school circuit for their excellent mooting competence. Moot Courts are needed for legal education today and they are well integrated in the curriculum of the University. the University has been hosting the M.M. Singhvi Bar Council of India Trust Moot Court Competition, organised to commemorate the memory of the late M.M. Singhvi, a lawyer in India.The University also hosted the North Indian rounds of the Stetson Environmental Law Moot Court Competition, which is another Moot Court CompetitionThe University also holds its own NLU AntiTrust Law Moot Court Competition. The specialised theme for this Moot Court Competition is AntiTrust Law, also known as Competition Law.
This Competition is organised under the aegis of the Competition Commission of India, a statutory regulatory body and Lakshmikumaran and Sridharan Attorneys, a tax-based law firm.
NLU Jodhpur is the only University in the country to have a dedicated gold medal for mooting.
In 2015 NLU Jodhpur also went on to win its first ever Mooting Premier League which is sponsored by Herbert Smith Freehills, beating the top law schools of the country in the year long competition showcasing their proficiency in mooting.
