SLAT 2019 – Review and Analysis

SLAT 2019 (Symbiosis Law Admission Test) was conducted on 4th of May 2019. It was an online paper comprising of 150 questions. The time duration alloted was of 2.5 hours.
There were five sections asked namely – English, CR, LR, GK and Legal. Each section was of 30 marks.Most of our students were able to complete the paper well before time within just 2 hours. They have rated this paper as easy.
The analysis is as follows :
1. English:
There were 6 reading comprehension. Two reading comprehension were of 2 paragraph while the other four had 4 paragraphs. There were questions like Antonyms, synonyms, inference, truth and false.
2. Logical Reasoning:
The questions were from areas such as Venn diagram, blood relations, series, statement -course of action, coding and decoding.
3.Arithmetic Reasoning:
It came as surprise to many as most of the question were from Maths under the veil of AR.Questions were from topics like- percentage, profit and loss, ratio and proportion, mixture, series, coding and decoding.
4. Legal Aptitude:
The questions were without any principal/ Rule. There were 12 questions belonging to the category known as Legal Reasoning and 18 we’re from Legal Knowledge. Most questions were from Constitutional law ( Almost from CP Class notes).Questions were asked like – right to privacy case, ADM Jabalpur case , contributory negligence, false imprisonment etc.
5. General Knowledge:
All 30 questions were from current affairs. 28 /30 were from CP compendiums. Questions were on international organisations, summits, Hornbill festival, Railway University, Time Magazine cover picture etc.
Review: Overall paper was easy. The cutoff for SLS Pune is expected to be 110 +/- 2 for SLS Pune
